D12 is the rap group formed by Eminem and five friends in the late nineties. When the group still hadn't been offered any record deals after years of touring, they decided to go their separate ways, with the first one to become famous promising to come back for the rest of the group. Everyone was surprised when Eminem was the first to be discovered.
The group has released two albums, Devil's Night and D12 World. Both albums debuted at number one on the Billboard music charts in the U.S. and topped the charts in many other countries. The two albums' hit singles included "Purple Pills", "Fight Music", "My Band", and "How Come".
Following Eminem's massive success, the band toured without him while Eminem was busy recording Encore.
They also decided that Eminem would not be as prominent on their upcoming third album. However, in June 2009, Eminem confirmed he was working hard on the group's 3rd studio album on an announcement made on Rap city during an interview with Eminem and Denaun Porter.
D12's London show will follow their performance at the V-festival which Eminem will be headlining.
Because Eminem will be in the England at the same time as D12, there are strong rumours that he will follow the band to London and make a guest appearance at the O2 Academy show.
Eminem is no stranger to the O2 Academy Islington as it was his preferred venue to host his secret gig in 2004.

- "D12" is short for "Dirty Dozen" because there are 6 guys in the group each person having a split personality.
- They refer to Detroit, Michigan (where the group was formed) as Amityville.
- They were nominated for Best Rap Video of 2004 at the 2004 MTV Music Video Awards. They lost to Jay-Z for his controversial video, "99 Problems".
